NSW OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP 1980
Winner: George Serhan

His first major success was the Fiji Open which he won in 1977, the same year that he won the most events on the NSW PGA Tournament Schedule. In 1979 he won the Samoan Open (included 10 under par 62 course record). 1980 was perhaps his best year. He won the NSW Open, finished 12th in the Asian Order of Merit and represented Australia in the 1980 Golf World Cup.
Other notable successes include winning the Illawarra Open in 1981, the NSW PGA Foursomes twice, runner up in the NSW PGA, Western Australian Open and the Pacific Harbour Open.

Throughout George’s career he has won over 60 Pro-Ams and has broken 12 course records.
