George Serhan was born in Muswellbrook, NSW on June 30, 1954 and was educated at Muswellbrook South Public and Muswellbrook High School.

He served his golf apprenticeship at Roseville Golf Course and after a successful career on the professional golf circuit, has held various head coach and master coach positions at Cherrybrook, Kellyville and St. Michael’s Golf Ranges.

George is married with two girls and a boy. He holds a Diploma of Business Principles. He is a specialised club fitter. George served on the Australian PGA Tour Board from 1990 to 1993 and has been Chairman of the PGA Foundation Tour.

George has had vast tournament experience. He has competed in the Malaysian TDC Tour (1 year), Korean Tour (3 years), South Pacific Tour (5 years), Asian Tour (14 years) and the Australian Tour (20 years).

Golf: Veteran Serhan leads PGA

MELBOURNE, Dec 10 AAP - Veteran New South Welshman George Serhan has produced his two
best rounds of golf in almost 20 years to lead the Australian PGA Championship at Victoria
Golf Club midway through the second round.

Serhan, 45, last won in 1980 and has been teaching at a driving range in Sydney for
the past few years.

But he showed he is still capable of mixing it with the latest generation of golfers
with a three-under par 69 yesterday which he bettered by a stroke today to be seven under
for the tournament.
